General Questions

· Are Clarins products tested on animals?

Clarins products are never tested on animals.  The only tests that Clarins conduct during the development and manufacture of our products are on human volunteers and tissue cultures which replicate the structure of the human skin and eye.

· For how long will a product keep once opened?

In March 2005, a new law came into effect which regulates the labelling of cosmetic products.  Products must now  feature a pictogram of an open jar which displays  the number of months that each product can be safely used once opened, assuming they’ve been stored and used correctly. This  pictogram is not required for products with  a lifespan exceeding  30 months.

· What is the difference between a day cream and a night cream? Why do I need both?

We always recommend that you apply a specific night product when you sleep and a day cream when you’re up and out and about, if you want to achieve the very best results for your skin.  This is because every Clarins day cream protects your skin from the dehydrating and ageing effects of  pollution, air conditioning, heating and excess light, and provides a great base for make-up. While every Clarins night product nourishes and revitalises  the skin when it’s at its most receptive as you sleep, to ensure it looks more rested, smoother and more radiant in the morning.
